Last November, HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik GmbH presented its new 5-axis machining centre, the ACURA 85, at an in-house exhibition. From 5 to 8 February the high-performance milling machine will also be presented at the Intec machine tools fair in Leipzig. Visitors to the HEDELIUS stand in Hall 5/C20 will be able to see the ACURA 85 live in operation, thus gaining an immediate impression of the machine’s dynamics, stability, performance and compactness. After all, despite its large travel distances of 900 x 850 x 700 mm (x/y/z) and an 80-slot tool magazine, the machining centre is very compact. The rotary/tilt table, supported on both sides, and the special moving column concept ensure the machine’s stability. With a clamping area of Ø 850 x 750 mm and a clamping weight of up to 1,000 kg, the newest addition to the ACURA range by HEDELIUS is also designed for bigger tasks, especially those that involve tool and mould construction. All of the related components, such as the hydraulics, pneumatics, centralised lubrication, control cabinet and cooling unit, are accessible from the right-hand side of the machine, making them easy to service.
Once again, this machining centre is focused on the user. The face plate of the rotary/tilt table is brought forward for improved accessibility, while the table height is approx. 845 mm. The tool magazine is front-loading and can be set up while machining is taking place. The cabin roof can be fully opened together with the machine door, allowing unrestricted access for crane loading, while also preventing cooling water from dripping. Like all HEDELIUS machining centres, the ACURA 85 can be fitted with a standby tool magazine. This means that up to another 190 tools are available on top of the 80 tools in the main magazine.
Visit HEDELIUS in Hall 5/C20 at Intec in Leipzig from 5 to 8 February 2019 and witness a vast array of machining processes, including trochoidal milling, high-feed milling and conventional roughing and finishing live on the ACURA 85.
