Linear chain linking

Whether you require pallet handling, workpiece handling or a combination of both, the ‘twinner’ concept with two ACURA
5-axis machining centres in a row enables even greater
productivity within a small space. ACURA machining centres
can currently be linked in series with an INDUMATIK
Light 120 and EROWA Leonardo pallet handling system or BMO platinum and titanium robot cells.
  • Up to 100 pallets in the storage system
  • Different pallet sizes, from 200 x 200 mm to 320 x 320 and all the way up to 400 x 400 mm
  • Handling weights of up to 180 kg
  • Pallet handling, workpiece handling or possible combination
  • Highly flexible – from individual parts to series
  • Staggered investment option"

Linear chain linking with INDUMATIK Light 120.

It can be linked up to the INDUMATIK Light 120 multi-pallet storage system as a straightforward pallet solution. There are various pallet dimensions to choose from, e.g. 24 storage spaces for pallets sized 400 x 400 mm, 30 storage spaces for pallets sized 320 x 320 mm or 40 storage spaces for pallets sized 200 x 200 mm. It is also possible to set up a combination of different pallet dimensions, such as 12 storage spaces for pallets sized 400 x 400 mm and 21 storage spaces for pallets sized 200 x 200 mm in a single system.

Linear chain linking with BMO Titanium.

The BMO Titanium model has up to 100 pallet storage spaces and two pallet set-up stations for handling combined workpieces or pallets. Robots that can handle 180 kg or as much as 500 kg are available, thus allowing even heavy workpieces to be used with pallets. Workpieces are stored in grid drawers. The different clamping devices are automatically loaded into the machine by the robot. A servomotor-adjustable double gripper changes the workpieces without the need to manually alter the gripper fingers for a product change. As such, the system can achieve a very high degree of autonomy.

Linear chain linking with BMO Platinum.

The Platinum model is designed for workpiece handling. Workpieces are stored in grid drawers. In addition, the system has eight storage spaces for clamping devices, which are automatically loaded into the machine using the robot. A servomotor-adjustable double gripper changes the workpieces without the need to manually alter the gripper fingers for a product change. As such, the system can achieve a high degree of autonomy.

Linear chain linking with HEDELIUS MARATHON RZ430.

With up to 34 pallets, the MARATHON RZ430 multi-pallet magazine system is ideal when you need to produce individual parts as repeat parts or small to medium series. Pallet handling is carried out by a 6-axis YASKAWA robot with a payload of 88 kg (or optionally 110 kg). Two pull-out storage/retrieval stations guarantee maximum productivity, even with short program run times. A highlight is the MultibatchOS pallet and order management system, including an 18.5" widescreen touch display. The automation system is perfect for use with the 5-axis machining centres ACURA 50 and ACURA 65.

Linear chain linking with EROWA Leonardo.

The unique HEDELIUS concept featuring two 5-axis machining centres positioned in a line from the ACURA 50 and ACURA 65 series – which are connected via an automation system – is becoming increasingly popular. Having already sold several systems, we are pleased to now be able to supply the first solution together with EROWA. In this case, linking is carried out by an EROWA Leonardo pallet handling system with 24 pallets, each measuring 320 x 320 mm.

Standby magazine.

The key to the success of automation lies in the number of tool spaces. A high degree of automation in production with small batch sizes and repeat parts requires a large number of tools. A large batch size will require a twin tool concept, resulting in a large number of tools.

A standby magazine increases the total number of tools for the ACURA 50 to 235, and 245 tools for the ACURA 65. The complete system thus offers 480 tool spaces and enables long running times without operator intervention.
