400 VISITORS ATTEND THE HEDELIUS IN-HOUSE EXHIBITION.

A good 400 visitors answered the call of HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik and came to Meppen in Lower Saxony. For three days, HEDELIUS and 22 specialist exhibitors presented innovative machining solutions on over 2200 square metres of exhibition space. Exhibits included a range of automation solutions for small and medium-sized metalworking companies with batch sizes from 1 to 500 units.

Major interest in TILTENTA 10 and small batch automation at the HEDELIUS in-house exhibition.

Barely presented, already sold: The TILTENTA 10, the latest member of the TILTENTA family of swivelling head machining centres, thoroughly impressed visitors at the HEDELIUS in-house exhibition at the end of June. The first machine will be delivered at the end of the year. "It was our best in-house exhibition," exclaims HEDELIUS Managing Director Dennis Hempelmann, summing up three successful days. "The response was record-breaking, the interest was immense, especially for automation of small batch sizes. A big thank you to all visitors and co-exhibitors!"

The TILTENTA 10 première, which could be seen live in action, was very popular. The machining centre, which features extra-large Y- and Z-axis travel paths of 1000 millimetres each and continuously swivelling main spindles, complements the TILTENTA series, which has been constructed hundreds of times over. The TILTENTA 10 is equipped with the SK50 BIG PLUS double-contact spindle system as standard. The simultaneous taper and plane system of the tool fitting in the BIG PLUS machine spindle ensures an extremely stable connection between the tool fitting and the spindle.

The company's own MARATHON P406 pallet changer for device automation during production in single-part or small-batch production (which was demonstrated live for the first time) also attracted great interest. Working in combination with the ACURA 65 5-axis machining centre and the larger 90-fold tool magazine, this automation solution drastically reduces set-up times. Visitors lauded the outstanding accessibility. The six pallet locations, which are designed for a clamping weight of 250 kg each, can be rotated, which is a unique feature in this class.

Also on show for the first time was the Robotrex 96 automation cell from LANG Technik GmbH, connected to the compact ACURA 50 5-axis machining centre. The automation cell is made up of a FANUC 6-axis robot featuring a payload of 50 kg and two automation trolleys fitted with a total of 46 vices. The system delivers a high degree of flexibility and covers a wide variety of parts.

Another highlight was the ACURA 85, the largest version of the popular ACURA series. The rotating/swivelling table mounted on both sides and the special travelling column concept of the 5-axis milling machine guarantee the machine's stability. With travel paths of 900 x 850 x 700 mm (x/y/z), a contact surface of Ø 850 x 750 mm, and a permissible clamping weight of 1000 kg, the ACURA 85 is also designed for machining large and heavy parts, in particular in tool and mould making.

HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik reissued its machine catalogue (which is almost 200 pages long) just in time for the in-house exhibition. Those who were unable to attend can download the catalogue or make an appointment at the demonstration centre in Meppen.
