High-pressure coolant systems achieve a significant increase in performance. During this process, the coolant is fed through the working spindle directly to the cutting edges of the tool. The systems can be equipped with 25, 50 or 75 bar high-pressure pumps, depending on the respective application, whereby these high-pressure pumps are controlled by frequency converters. It is therefore possible to individually program the pressure for each tool in the NC program. This also results in energy savings because not every tool requires the full pressure. All HEDELIUS machining centres are designed for this modern cutting technology.
The cooling lubricant can also have an influence on the dimensional accuracy of the workpieces to be produced, which can result in a failure to satisfy the workpiece quality requirements. Active, controlled cooling of the cooling lubricant counteracts the heat input into the material and tool. As such, HEDELIUS coolant systems can be optionally equipped with a built-in immersion cooler for temperature controlling the cooling lubricant.
